Cake from a Jar

My sister’s birthday is coming up. Home made mixes are a great alternative to store bought. I think she will like the sprinkles because of Flo on the Progressive Insurance commercial.  ”

Sprinkles are for winners.

” (Inside joke)

To Make 1 Jar of Mix:
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
3 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening

Mix together on a food processor and store in a tightly covered container.

To make a White Cake use
3 egg whites
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Jar Mix (see above!)

Bake in a 350 degree oven about 15 minutes for cupcakes or 20 minutes for 8 inch pans. Let cool completely before icing.
